Madeline Boughton: Interim Chair - appointed to the board September 2014
From actress to publicist, from arts officer to international arts promoter, Madeline Boughton has been working professionally in the arts sector in Ireland for over twenty years.
She has worked in youth arts with Dublin Youth Theatre and the National Association for Youth Drama, in the contemporary performing arts as Press Officer at Project Arts Centre and Special Events and Talks Co-Ordinator for the Dublin Theatre Festival. She has also worked at national cultural institutions [Head of Marketing and Press at the Abbey Theatre], with a local arts centre (Draíocht Centre for the Arts, Blanchardstown) and with a State agency [Theatre Adviser to the Arts Council of Ireland]. Most recently, she has worked in the field of international cultural relations as the first local Arts Officer appointed to the British Council in Dublin and as the Director of Showcases and Communications with Culture Ireland.
Madeline has a Degree in Arts Administration [UCD] and an MA [Honours] in Intercultural Studies [DCU] and is currently taking a part-time course in International Development at Kimmage Development Centre. She served on the Irish Times Theatre Awards panel two years running and was chairperson of Pan Pan Theatre Company and an associate board member of Hatch Theatre Company. She is a founding director of MB Arts International, a specialist arts and project management consultancy. Clients include Culture Ireland, the Arts Council of Ireland, the Irish Writers Centre, the Irish Architecture Foundation, Limerick City and County Council and The Royal Institute of Architect’s in Ireland.
Lisa Mc Loughlin Company Secretary- appointed to the board April 2014
Lisa McLoughlin trained at the Rambert School, London. On graduation she joined Daghdha Dance Company under the direction of Mary Nunan and later under the direction of Yoshiko Chuma. Lisa was a founding member of Rex Levitates Dance Company from 1999-2008 (Now Liz Roche Company), with whom she performed extensively. She was a regular dancer with CoisCéim Dance Company from 2005-2011. She has also been a regular dancer with many companies including IMDT,Ciotóg, Catapult, Marguerite Donlon and Dancers, and Opera Ireland. One of her choreographies, Tender hooks of honesty, was awarded the Jane Snow Award at the Dublin Fringe Festival. She co-produced and choreographed Fourtold in 2011, funded by the Arts Council of Ireland. In 2012 she choreographed and performed Below the Tide, a piece inspired by the book Stillness by Sr. Stan Kennedy, performed in Sanctuary, Meditation centre, also funded by the Arts council of Ireland. She was a member of the board of Directors of Dance Ireland for the past five years. She is currently writing her Master’s thesis which combines Dance and Psychology, examining dancers implicit attitude’s to dance and themselves as dancers. Lisa is currently working in the University of Limerick as a Lecturer in Dance on both the BA and MA programmes. She is a qualified STOTT Pilates instructor and a Yoga Alliance certified teacher.
Lisa Hallinan - appointed to the board April 2014
Lisa Hallinan is General Manager of Galway Dance Project and Project Director of Yeats2015, Ireland's National Celebration of WB Yeats.
Previously she has managed Step-Up: Dance Project at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick, the Academy20Convocation, celebrating 20 years of the Irish World Academy, and Light Moves Festival of Screendance, as part of Limerick City of Culture. Working in arts and festival management for over ten years, Lisa has previously worked with Galway Arts Festival, The Model, home of the Niland Collection, Galway Volvo Ocean Race, Galway Culture Night, Temple Bar Cultural Trust, Sligo and Galway City Councils and as Arts Officer for IRD Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo. Lisa has completed an MA in Arts Policy & Practice (1st Class Hons.) from NUI Galway and has been pursuing a PhD there.
Catherine Marshall - appointed to the Board 2018
Catherine Marshall is an art writer and curator. She has lectured in Art History (1986 -96) at Trinity College, Dublin and taught courses at the National College of Art and Design and University College Dublin. She became founding Head of Collections at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in 1995 and was seconded from there to the Arts Council of Ireland in 2007 and later to the Royal Irish Academy.
Curatorial projects include; Views from an Island; Contemporary Art from the Collection of the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Beijing and Shanghai, 2003, Kathleen Lynn, Insider on the Outside, Co. Mayo, 1916 Commemorative Project, at five locations in Mayo, 2016, Ain't I a Woman?, South Tipperary Arts Centre, Clonmel, 2018, and many exhibitions of art from the IMMA collection at the Museums and all over the country. In 2014 she co-edited The Art and Architecture of Ireland, Vol. V, Twentieth Century, and Modern Ireland in 100 Art works, Royal Irish Academy, 2015. She contributed to The Atlas of the Great Famine (2013), the Famine Folio series from the Irish Great Hunger Museum, University of Quinnipiac, and has published monograph essays on many Irish artists. She is a regular reviewer with the Dublin Review of Books.
She is Chair of the Art Committee of Bealtaine, the annual nationwide multi-disciplinary arts festival, sits on the Board of KCAT, the Irish American Cultural Institute, Common Ground, and the South Tipperary Arts Centre.

Ursula Robb - appointed to the board in 2019
Ursula Robb graduated from the New Zealand School of Dance in 1989 and began her dance career with the Douglas Wright Dance Company, and the Royal New Zealand Ballet (1990 -1995).
In 1995 she moved to Belgium and worked with Wim Vandekeybus, Ultima Vez (1995-1997), Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, ROSAS (1997-2004) and Thomas Hauert, cie Zoo (2004-2005).
Ursula was a founder member of the New Zealand Dance Company (2012) and toured NZ with the company in 2013.
Since 2005 Ursula has worked as a freelance dancer and tutor and teaches regularly at P.A.R.T.S, (Performing Arts and Research Studios) Brussels, DDSKS,(Danish National School of Performing Arts) Copenhagen, NZSD (New Zealand School of Dance), Wellington, and most recently, on the BA and MA programs at the University of Limerick.
As a rehearsal director she has worked with Rosas, Paris Opera and Lyon Opera, setting Rosas repertoire.
In 2019, Ursula has worked on two performance projects, one with the artist John Gerrard on a motion capture artwork which will form part of Galway, European Capital of Culture 2020 and the second with Jenny Roche, Ruth Gibson and Bruno Martelli on ‘Expanded Fields’, an installation /performance piece shown at the Limerick City Gallery, November 2019.
Ursula holds an MA in Cultural Policy and Arts Management (UCD, 2017) and lives in Co Kildare with her family.
